No. 4: Nobody made you do any of this.

To be heard is a choice.

Here is something worth sitting with for a moment. You chose what you had for breakfast. You chose what you read this morning, who you replied to and who you didn’t, what kind of mood you decided the day deserved. You are, it turns out, making choices at a rate that would exhaust you if you thought about it too hard.

Most of them you don’t notice. That’s the catch.

The un-noticed choice is still a choice – it just belongs to habit instead of you. And habit is a wonderful thing, right up until you realise it has been running your life while you were busy doing other things.

To be heard is not about volume. It’s not about platform or audience or reach. It is simply the decision to notice – what you actually think, what you actually want to say – before the habit steps in and says it for you.

Radical? Not really. Rare? Surprisingly, yes.

Fun Fact

Here’s how we see it: The most interesting people are not necessarily the loudest ones in the room. They are the ones who waited a beat before speaking – and meant it when they did. Choosing to be heard starts long before anyone else is listening.
